Based off the Tarot card Strength, number eight and ninth card of the Major Arcana.
The beast run wild ruins us, and so we seek to react in kind and ruin it, but force need not always be necessary to pacify the raging chaos of the creature. It is a terrible force, but it is a shame to waste that energy when it might only take a gentle hand to harness it.
When ever I see this card, I think of how humanity domesticated wolves-- as fearsome as a pack of wolves are, humanity made sure to show a few kindness and now we have made loyal companions of their descendants. This card is all about making an effort to try another approach.
Well, it was as close kind as humanity really got for a very long time, I suppose. We were as nice to our wolf companions as nature would allow. We gave them a pack, we kept them feed, we kept them safe. If we got something out of that in return, great. It's a symbiotic relationship.
